Travis and Jason Kelce Discuss Conspiracy Theories in NFL Locker Rooms on ‘New Heights’ Podcast

Travis and Jason Kelce Discuss Conspiracy Theories in NFL Locker Rooms on ‘New Heights’ Podcast

Travis and Jason Kelce Discuss NFL Locker Room Beliefs

During a recent episode of their “New Heights” podcast, Travis and Jason Kelce shared some intriguing insights about the beliefs of certain players in NFL locker rooms.

The Kelce brothers had Andrew Santino, known for his role in “Dave” and co-host of the “Bad Friends” podcast, as a guest on their show. Travis Kelce mentioned how conspiracy theories can strengthen the bond among NFL players before posing a question to Santino.

When asked about the number of NFL players who believe in the “flat Earth” theory, both Travis and Jason were quick to respond.

“Dude, honestly, there are at least 10 to 15 guys in every locker room, I would imagine,” Travis stated.

“You would be shocked,” Jason added. “If an anonymous poll was conducted, over 15% of an NFL locker room, maybe even over 20%, would believe in these theories.”

Colts’ Chris Ballard Criticizes Reports on Draft Pick

Santino seemed surprised by the revelation.

“Dude, everyone gets hit in the head,” Travis remarked. “Itâs unbelievable.”

Santino then lightened the mood by joking about the “NFL is rigged” theory, which gained attention on Barstool Sportsâ “Macrodosing” podcast towards the end of the 2022 season.

The theory even made its way onto social media, with the NFL incorporating a “script read” at the start of the 2023 season. However, despite the controversy, the Chiefs emerged as Super Bowl champions for the second consecutive season, defeating the San Francisco 49ers in a thrilling showdown.

Mavericks struggle to find their rhythm in Game 1 defeat against Clippers

Mavericks struggle to find their rhythm in Game 1 defeat against Clippers

The Dallas Mavericks faced a tough matchup against the LA Clippers in the first game of their playoff series, with coach Jason Kidd expressing concern over his team’s lack of physicality. Despite Clippers star Kawhi Leonard being sidelined, James Harden stepped up with a dominant first half performance, scoring 20 of his 28 points from beyond the arc. The tone was set by Ivica Zubac, who bullied the Mavericks in the paint and finished with a playoff career-high 20 points.

The Mavericks struggled offensively, with only 8 points in the second quarter, their lowest-scoring quarter of the season. Despite a strong second half showing from stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who combined for 64 points, the Mavericks couldn’t overcome the early deficit.

Dallas will need to regroup and adjust their physicality heading into Game 2, as they look to bounce back from a tough loss in the series opener. The team’s young players will need to step up and adapt to the intensity of playoff basketball as they aim to even the series against the Clippers.

Minnesota Vikings Trade Up in NFL Draft to Select J.J. McCarthy: Analysts Believe Team Made the Right Call

Minnesota Vikings Trade Up in NFL Draft to Select J.J. McCarthy: Analysts Believe Team Made the Right Call

Minnesota Vikings Select J.J. McCarthy in 2024 NFL Draft

The Minnesota Vikings made a bold move by selecting Michigan standout J.J. McCarthy with the No. 10 overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit praised the decision, believing that McCarthy was the right choice for the organization.

    Rise to Prominence

McCarthy, who led the Wolverines to an undefeated season and a national championship before declaring for the draft, saw his stock rise in the weeks leading up to the draft night. Despite four other quarterbacks being taken before him, McCarthy’s talent ultimately landed him in the No. 10 spot after the Vikings traded up to select him.

    High Praise

During a recent episode of OutKickâs “Donât @ Me with Dan Dakich,” Herbstreit praised McCarthy as a true winner, attributing much of his success to former head coach Jim Harbaugh’s offensive system. Herbstreit sees McCarthy as fitting perfectly into the Vikings’ system under head coach Kevin OâConnell.

    Future Potential

“I think that kid could eventually become one of the faces of the NFL. I think heâs got a chance to really take off,” Herbstreit added, highlighting McCarthy’s potential in the league.

    Vikings’ Trade

The Vikings traded up with the New York Jets, giving up the No. 11 pick and additional draft picks in exchange for the opportunity to select McCarthy at No. 10. Head coach O’Connell expressed confidence in their decision to make the move for the talented quarterback.

    Impressive Stats

In his two full seasons as a starter, McCarthy boasted a remarkable record of 27-1. He set a program record with a 72.3% completion percentage, throwing for 5,710 yards, 44 touchdowns, and only nine interceptions.

Brenden Dillon sustains a deep cut on his hand in the midst of intense altercation between Jets and Avalanche players

Brenden Dillon sustains a deep cut on his hand in the midst of intense altercation between Jets and Avalanche players

The intense matchup between the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night took a dangerous turn in the final moments of the game. Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon suffered a potentially serious injury as a result of a scrum that erupted on the ice, leaving him with a major gash on his hand.

The tension had been building throughout the game, and it finally boiled over in the last minute as players from both teams engaged in a physical altercation. Dillon, along with Colorado’s Brandon Duhaime and Joel Kiviranta, received penalties for roughing after the scuffle.

In the chaos of the moment, Dillon found himself at the bottom of the pile, and it was evident that his hand had been injured, possibly by a skate blade. Despite the pain, Dillon managed to skate off the ice and head to the dressing room for further evaluation.

Jets coach Rick Bowness expressed concern for Dillon’s condition, noting the visible blood on the ice. Dillon, a key player for the Jets averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per game in the playoffs, will be sorely missed if he is unable to return to the series.

The Avalanche managed to rally in the third period, scoring five consecutive goals to secure a 6-2 victory and take a 2-1 lead in the series. With Game 4 looming on Sunday, both teams will be looking to regroup and potentially make adjustments in the absence of Dillon.

Richie Sambora’s New Music + Tour

Richie Samboraâs New Music + Tour

Richie Sambora has shared the first of four new songs heâs releasing week-by-week.

The former Bon Jovi guitarist has kicked off the series with the track âI Prayâ, which will be followed by âLivinâ Aloneâ (May 3), âSongs That Wrote My Lifeâ (May 10), and âBelieve (In Miracles)â (May 17), which were produced by the âWanted Dead or Aliveâ groupâs producer Bob Rock.

Sambora, 64, has no desire to top the charts with his new solo tunes and simply wants the listener to have an uplifting experience.

He said in a statement: âIâm at that point in my life where I am truly happy and a big part of that joy comes from writing songs and making music. Thereâs a tremendous freedom with these songs because I donât have to think about charting #1 or whatâs happening on the radio, but I still put the same craftsmanship, care and love into it as I did with âSlippery When Wetâ or âNew Jerseyâ and I hope they bring a similar happiness to those that choose to listen and push play on streaming services.â

A press release adds that: âThe musician will celebrate his new music and body of work on an eagerly awaited live tour, with complete details to be announced soon.â

Meanwhile, Bon Jovi are the stars of the warts-and-all docuseries called âThank You, Good Night: The Bon Jovi Storyâ, which is airing on Hulu.

The four-part series explores Samboraâs exit from the band.

Jon Bon Jovi, 62, said: âThereâs no shields up on this project. Everybody showed warts and all.â

Jovi has just insisted he is ready and waiting for the day Sambora rejoins the group he quit in 2013 to spend more time with his then-15-year-old daughter, Ava, whose mother is actress Heather Locklear, and insists there is âno animosityâ between the pair.

Appearing on Absolute Radio to promote the series, he said: âWell, itâs been 11 years and Iâm still waiting for the phone call, so who knows what the future holds. You have to understand that there was never a fight, or a falling out, he quit the band 11 years ago in the middle of the night. There was no animosity, because being in a rock band, as glorious as it sounds, is hard work and he decided that being on the road with us wasnât for him and he just didnât show up anymore. Thatâs really what happened⦠he came to see the doc though, I watched the first few episodes with him. Itâs all good.â

Oldest Living Former MLB Player Celebrates 100th Birthday

Art Schallock, the oldest living former MLB player, celebrated his 100th birthday on April 25, 2024. Schallock, a left-handed player, pitched 58 games with the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles over his MLB career back in the 1950s, according to MLB.com. He spent five years with the league.

During his time in the MLB, he won three World Series, all with the Yankees, from 1951 to 1953. He pitched in Game 4 of the 1953 World Series. “Hereâs a game that I loved, I really enjoyed it and loved the game of baseball, and they pay you for it. What more can you ask for?” Schallock said, per The Associated Press. “I wish I was playing today and getting the salaries that they get, but thatâs the way it goes.”

    Early Life and Career

In 1942, Schallock enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II, according to The Associated Press. After he left the service, he went to junior college and pitched for a couple of years. Schallock then played semi-pro in San Francisco before signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He trained with their Triple-A Montreal Royals affiliate, according to MLB.com.

He played for Dodgers affiliates until 1951, when he was called up by the New York Yankees. He was 19 years old when he joined the major leagues, taking Mickey Mantle’s roster spot, though Mantle came back to the team in 1952, until 1968, when he retired. “That was quite a thrill, quite a thrill playing with those guys,” Schallock shared in a video call, per The Associated Press.

While he was on the Yankees from 1951 to 1954, he appeared in 28 games, with eight starts. In 1955, he went to the Orioles. During his time in the MLB, he won three World Series, all with the Yankees, from 1951 to 1953. He pitched in Game 4 of the 1953 World Series.

    Legacy and Reminiscing

Schallock became the oldest living player after George Elder died in July 2022 at 101 years old. “Art loves to reminisce about his time with the Yankees and the other teams,” said Wendy Cornejo, executive director of the senior living community where Schallock lives per MLB.com. “He lights up when heâs talking about baseball. We hope to make his birthday a fitting celebration of his long life and exciting accomplishments.”

    Eminem Announces New Album

    Eminem Announces New Album

Eminem is seemingly killing off his alter ego with his upcoming album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

The Without Me rapper, real name Marshall Mathers, announced his twelfth studio album by sharing a trailer for a fake true crime series called Detroit Murder Files.Â

Presented as a teaser for an upcoming episode, the showâs host discussed the death of Eminemâs long-running alter ego, Slim Shady.Â

âThrough his complex and oft-criticised, tongue-twisting rhymes, the blond anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies,â he said in a voiceover.Â

Eminemâs associate 50 Cent then made a cameo appearance. Giving his testimony in a hotel room, the In Da Club rapper commented, âHeâs not a friend, heâs a psychopath.â

The host continued, âThe same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.â

Eminem then appeared as another talking head, saying, âI knew it was only a matter of time for Slim.â

The album, which will be released this summer, follows the The Real Slim Shady rapperâs 2020 record Music to Be Murdered By.Â

Slim Shady has been Eminemâs alter ego ever since 1997âs Slim Shady EP and the 1999 album The Slim Shady LP.Â

His longtime collaborator Dr. Dre revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March that he has songs on Eminemâs next album.Â

âEminem is working on his own album which is coming out this year and I actually talked to him and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show,â he revealed. âIâm actually going to hear the entire album for the first time tomorrow.â

Carolina Panthers Owner David Tepper Faces Backlash After Controversial Draft Decisions and Off-Field Incidents

Carolina Panthers Owner David Tepper Faces Backlash After Controversial Draft Decisions and Off-Field Incidents

    Carolina Panthers’ 2024 Draft Pick

The Carolina Panthers’ 2024 first-round draft pick was one of multiple picks the Chicago Bears acquired in last year’s blockbuster trade.

The Panthers moved up to the top spot in the 2023 draft and selected quarterback Bryce Young.

The Panthers finished last season with a 2-15 record and would have been the first team on the clock in Detroit on Thursday. But the Bears held the rights to the pick and drafted quarterback Caleb Williams.

    David Tepper’s Ownership

David Tepper bought the Panthers in 2018, and the franchise has not had much success since, finishing with a losing record in each of the six seasons since he became owner.

Tepper’s ownership has also been marred by some off-field blunders, the latest of which took place Thursday. Shortly before the draft began, a sign outside a Charlotte bar appeared to rub Tepper the wrong way.

    Controversy Surrounding David Tepper

“Please Let The Coach & GM Pick This Year,” the sign outside the Dilworth Neighborhood Grille, said. The message was a reference to Tepper’s perceived influence over the Panthers’ decision to draft Young instead of C.J. Stroud last year. Stroud was the second overall pick and won Rookie of the Year.

Tepper caught wind of the sign and decided to pay the bar a visit Thursday night. WBTV obtained video footage of Tepper’s exchange with someone working inside the restaurant. At one point, Tepper reached over and took the hat off the man’s head. The hat appeared to feature the Philadelphia Eagles logo.

    VIEW MOMENT ON X

    Carolina Panthers’ Front Office Activity

Although the Panthers’ front office likely did not plan on being particularly busy Thursday night, the team pulled off a trade to get into the first round. Carolina closed out the first round by selecting South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette at No. 32.

    VIEW MOMENT ON X

    Tepper’s Controversial Behavior

Shortly after the Panthers’ 2023 campaign ended, a sign outside the restaurant said, “Meddling owners never win. Run from Jerry Jones.”

A video surfaced on New Year’s Eve that appeared to show Tepper throwing a drink at a Jacksonville Jaguars fan from his luxury suite during a game. The NFL later fined Tepper $300,000.

The Dilworth Neighborhood Grille marquee took aim at Tepper.

“WE LOST SO BAD, TEP ACTUALLY SPILLED HIS DRINK,” the sign said at the time.

Christine + The Queens Reveal New Single

Christine + The Queens Reveal New Single

Christine and the Queens has released a new single, âRentrer Chez Moi.â The French-language song was written and produced by the artist, and arrived alongside a music video directed by Sasha Mongin and produced by Premier Cri. The ethereal clip was filmed in Paris and Hanches, France.Â

On the poetic track, the musician sings about returning home to oneself. The English translation of the lyrics showcases the meta nature of the lines: âThis song makes me cry because it is true, so much love I have for you, this deep decision to always stay honest â for the dance to be then the shared moment, the joyful celebration. One moment together. A wholesome surrender. One love, from one to the next, before I danced for this video.â

The song follows Christine and the Queensâ recent collaboration with MGMT on âDancing in Babylon,â which appeared on the duoâs recent Loss of Life LP. In an interview with Rolling Stone, MGMTâs Andrew VanWyngarden said âDancing in Babylonâ started off as a âsilly, jokey song about this couple in Rockaway Beach that I didnât know that well.â At first, it was more of a âhappy-go-lucky, cute little song.âÂ

âOnce we brought in Christine and the Queens, it went into this whole other space where it felt like âTotal Eclipse of the Heartâ or a Roxy Music ballad,â VanWyngarden said. âItâs all over the place.

2023 saw the release of Christine and the Queensâ epic triple-LP Paranoia, Angels, True Love, which followed 2022âs Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue). The most recent album featured guests like Madonna, Shake 070, and Mike Dean. In December, Christine and the Queens dropped a rendition of the Bee Geesâ âStayinâ Alive.â
