Kick Off Your February Weekend with LightHEARTed Rom-Coms, When Calls the Heart, Classic Christmas Movies, and More to Love!

As the month of February rolls in, it’s time to kick off the weekend with some light-hearted entertainment that will not only soothe your spirit but also make you fall in love again with the magic of storytelling. This weekend, enjoy a blend of romantic comedies, classic Christmas movies, and heartwarming TV series that are bound to leave you with a smile on your face and love in your heart.

First on the list is the charming Canadian-American television series, “When Calls the Heart”. This heartwarming drama, set in the early 20th century, follows the life of Elizabeth Thatcher, a young teacher accustomed to her high-society life. She receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coal-mining town in Western Canada which is located just south of Robb, Alberta. There, life is simple, but often fraught with challenges. Elizabeth charms most everyone in Coal Valley, except Royal Northwest Mounted Police Constable Jack Thornton. He finds Thatcher’s wealthy father’s influence over-protective, and he constantly critiques her teaching. Despite this, Elizabeth inspires her students and makes many friends including Abigail Stanton while managing to win over the heart of Constable Thornton. The series is a perfect mix of romance, drama, and history that will surely keep you hooked.

Next up is a selection of classic Christmas movies to light up your weekend. Christmas may be a past event, but it’s never too late or too early to enjoy the heartwarming stories that the season brings. Movies like “Itâs a Wonderful Life”, “Miracle on 34th Street”, and “White Christmas” are timeless classics that bring joy and a sense of nostalgia no matter what time of year it is. These movies, with their heartwarming narratives and memorable characters, encapsulate the values of love, family, and the spirit of giving in a way that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

If you’re in the mood for some romance with a side of laughter, then romantic comedies are just the thing for you. Movies like “The Proposal”, “Crazy, Stupid, Love”, and “Bridget Jones’s Diary” are perfect for a cozy night in. These movies, with their hilarious plot twists and unforgettable love stories, are not just entertaining but also incredibly relatable.

Lastly, for all the football fans out there, the month of February also brings the excitement of the Super Bowl. So, why not combine your love for football with some light-hearted entertainment? Movies like “Remember the Titans”, “The Blind Side”, and “Friday Night Lights” blend the thrill of the game with compelling storylines and unforgettable characters, making them a must-watch for any sports enthusiast.

In conclusion, whether you’re a fan of romantic comedies, classic Christmas movies, or heartwarming TV series, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this February weekend. So, grab your popcorn, get cozy, and get ready for a weekend full of love, laughter, and heartwarming stories.

Happy first full weekend of February, everyone!

February is the month of Valentineâs Day, cozy romances, and a little extra heart! And this weekend is packed with lots of it!

This Saturday, the Hallmark Channel kicks off February with its very first Loveuary movie, while Great American Family is airing the cable premiere of a sweet, lighthearted, romantic-comedy.

And not only is romance in the air, itâs also Game On this weekend with the Olympics and the Super Bowl.

A quick reminder for all of you, Hearties… When Calls the Heart will air episode 6 a day early on Saturday, due to the Super Bowl game on Sunday.

A really sweet thing about this upcoming episode is that the new Mountie visiting Hope Valley is Austin Landon, son of When Calls the Heart Producer Michael Landon, Jr., and grandson of Michael Landon (Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza). With both his father and grandfather having roles in period dramas, itâs wonderful to see Austin continue the family tradition. (Austin is pictured above in a Mountie uniform next to Kevin McGarry.)

I also wanted to mention that Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie) is also supposed to return for this episode, although she is not included in any of the press photos or promos released for this episode.

On Sunday afternoon, Great American Family will warm hearts with the Great American Rescue Bowl, featuring the most adorable dogs and cats in need of adoption and a âfurâever home- hosted by Beth Stern and Trevor Donovan.
