Happy February 25th – Itâs Time to Mark the 25th!

Just when we thought we were done with holiday celebrations, here comes another date worth noting on our calendars – February 25th. It may not be as globally recognized as Christmas or Valentine’s Day, but it is a significant date for many. So, let’s dive in and see why you might want to mark the 25th of February on your calendar!

The 25th of February holds different meanings for different people worldwide. In some countries, it’s a national holiday, while in others, it’s a day to celebrate some unique events. Here are a few ways people around the globe mark this day:

  1. Kuwait National Day: February 25th is a red-letter day in Kuwait as it marks the country’s National Day. It’s a day of joy, pomp, and grandeur, with celebrations including fireworks, parades, concerts, and more. The National Day denotes the day when Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah ascended to the throne in 1950.
  2. People Power Day in the Philippines: Also on February 25th, Filipinos celebrate the People Power Revolution’s anniversary. This event, which occurred in 1986, marked the end of Ferdinand Marcos’ 20-year dictatorship and the restoration of the country’s democracy.
  3. National Clam Chowder Day in the United States: For the foodies, February 25th is a day to celebrate one of the most loved soups in the United States – clam chowder. It’s a day for chefs and home cooks alike to whip up a pot of this hearty soup and share it with friends and family.
  4. Saint Walburga’s Day: For the religiously inclined, especially in Germany and other parts of Europe, February 25th is the feast day of Saint Walburga, an English missionary to the Frankish Empire. She is revered for her healing and miracles.
  5. National Chocolate Covered Nut Day: Another celebration for the food lovers, February 25th also marks the National Chocolate Covered Nut Day in the United States. It’s a day to indulge in this sweet and crunchy treat.

While these are specific celebrations attached to February 25th, it’s also a great day to celebrate the simple fact that we are two months into the new year. It’s a day to reflect on the goals we set at the start of the year, evaluate our progress, and adjust our plans as needed.

Moreover, as spring approaches in many parts of the world, February 25th could be a day to anticipate the warmer days ahead and the renewal that comes with spring. It’s an excellent day for a spring-cleaning kickoff, starting seeds for your garden, or simply spending time outdoors.

In conclusion, whether you’re in Kuwait celebrating National Day, in the Philippines commemorating People Power Day, or in the United States enjoying a bowl of clam chowder or some chocolate-covered nuts, February 25th is a day to mark on your calendar. And even if none of these specific celebrations resonate with you, make the day special in your own way. After all, every day is worth celebrating!

Happy February 25th, everyone!

Wow! Can you believe itâs already been TWO months since Christmas? Time really does fly once the decorations come down!

Are you already counting down to Christmas 2026 with us?

Okay⦠it might seem a little early. But if youâve been following Itâs a Wonderful Movie for a while, then you know that every 25th day of the month we celebrate our ongoing Countdown to Christmas tradition!

A little Christmas cheer sprinkled throughout the year makes everything feel warmer and brighter.

Only 10 months to go⦠but whoâs counting, right?

If you’d like to join along to celebrate the 25th… all you have to do is choose a Christmas movie to watch today (or sometime this week or weekend) and share in comments below your Christmas choice!

I decided that my Christmas movie pick will be the hockey-themed movie, Checkin’ it Twice, due to the recent amazing wins from our American hockey teams in the Olympics. Their American patriotism is so inspiring, especially from the men’s team who hadn’t won since 1980! I didn’t see the first Miracle on Ice, but this certainly feels like another miracle win.

Please share your Christmas movie picks in comments! I would love to know which Christmas movie you are feeling drawn to this week.

Merry Mark the 25th!
