Barry Manilow has shared an update on his âagonyâ amid treatment for lung cancer.

The legendary singer shared a video message for fans on his social media channels, three months after pausing his farewell tour due to a cancer diagnosis.

Describing the mandated break from work as âagonyâ, Barry, 82, admitted he had âno patienceâ as he waited to complete treatment.

âItâs been a long ride and since I have no patience, itâs been agony,â he said. âBut I am getting stronger. And I have great doctors and wonderful friends and family, but I am so looking forward to getting back on stage.â

The Copacabana singer announced in December that doctors had found a cancerous spot on his lung when they checked him over after a bout of bronchitis.

Explaining that although he had been working out three times a day, he was still unable to âsing more than three songs in a rowâ, Barry told his followers his concert tour would need to be postponed and recalled his doctor telling him, âBarry, you wonât be ready to do a 90-minute show. Your lungs arenât ready yet. Youâre in great shape considering what youâve been through, but your body isnât ready.â

On Tuesday, the Mandy singer managed to sneak in a plug for his new album, What a Time.

âWhat a time itâs been,â he reflected. âHey, thatâs the name of my new album! Itâs called What a Time. It comes out real soon and I canât wait to show these songs to you.â
