Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to hospital after falling ill amid her performance in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Tuesday night.

Last week, the Savage rapper â real name Megan Pete â kicked off an eight-week run of the show, in which she plays the character of Harold Zidler. The production is staged at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City.Â

But in a statement, producers announced that Megan was forced to pull out of the performance as she started to feel unwell.Â

âDuring Tuesday nightâs production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,â a spokesperson commented. âWe will share additional updates as more information becomes available.âÂ

In addition, Meganâs hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, asked fans to keep the music star in their thoughts.Â

Representatives for the 31-year-old have not yet issued any further details.Â

Megan is the first female-identifying performer to portray Zidler, the role originated by Danny Burstein, in any Moulin Rouge! The Musical production worldwide.Â
