Olivia Rodrigo made her third musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, performing two songs from her forthcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.

Rodrigo, who previously performed on the late night show in 2023 and in 2021, opened with âDrop Dead,â which she wrote with Amy Allen and longtime collaborator Dan Nigro.

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter, who also debuted as SNL host on Saturday, has said You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love will mainly include âsad love songs.â

âIt was a creative challenge to write from a joyful place,â she explained. âWhen youâre experiencing that youâre connected to someone, or feeling really good, youâre not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!â

The album, Rodrigoâs third after 2023âs Guts and 2021âs Sour, will be released on June 12. Like its predecessors, Nigro is producing.

For her second song of the night, Rodrigo debuted âBegged.â On supporting vocals was Weyes Blood, the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter whoâs wrapping up a new album herself.

Rodrigoâs 65-date âUnraveled Tourâ in support of her upcoming album begins in September in Hartford, Connecticut. The North American leg ends in February in Brooklyn, after which she will head over to Europe, wrapping up in Barcelona in early May.
