Get ready to immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas with our first Christmas movie weekend! Happy viewing! Excitement is in the air as we welcome the first weekend of the holiday season, filled with classic Christmas movies and a brand new premiere! The much-anticipated Christmas movie weekend is upon us, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

The festive season kicks off with “Great American Family” launching a new film, “A Second Chance Christmas”. The movie sees Candace Cameron Bure and Jonathan Scarfe playing exes who find themselves stranded together in a snowstorm. Will they rediscover love amidst the frosty weather?

In addition, the Hallmark Channel’s last “Fall into Love” movie premiere, “The Spirit of Halloween”, starring Meghan Ory and Kevin McGarry, has a unique twist. The film weaves the legendary “A Christmas Carol” story into its plot. While Halloween-themed films aren’t typically my go-to, the familiar Ebenezer Scrooge Christmas story is intriguing enough to tempt me into watching it.

From Friday, October 9, 2026, you can enjoy classic Christmas movies round the clock on Great American Family. The lineup includes favorites like “Twas the Text Before Christmas”, “A Cinderella Christmas Ball”, “Let it Snow”, “A Little Women’s Christmas”, “Destined at Christmas”, “A Christmas Prayer”, and more.

On the same day, Hallmark Channel will host a mini-movie marathon featuring Kevin McGarry. The lineup includes “Winter Castle”, “My Grown-Up Christmas List”, and “Checkin’ it Twice”.

The following day, Saturday, October 10, 2026, will see the premiere of “A Second Chance Christmas” on Great American Family. The film follows divorced parents Anna and James who reunite for Christmas after five years, only to face an unexpected ice storm that may rekindle their love.

Also premiering on Saturday is “The Spirit of Halloween” on the Hallmark Channel. The film tells the story of Everly Stone, a bridal designer with little patience for Halloween, who is shown the joy she’s lost, the people she’s pushing away, and the future she might miss by three mischievous spirits.

In addition to these premieres, Hallmark Channel will also be airing their classic fall movies all weekend long. So, get ready to curl up and enjoy a festive movie marathon.

It’s a joy to celebrate the start of the Christmas movie season. I’m particularly excited about the brand-new Christmas premiere and to revisit some of my favorite holiday classics. However, given “The Spirit of Halloween” incorporates the “A Christmas Carol” storyline, it may contain some spooky or intense moments. If you’re watching with young children, please use your discretion and perhaps preview the film first.

Alongside watching the Great American Family Christmas movies this morning, I’m also enjoying the Christmas carols featured in the commercials.

As we look forward to the upcoming Christmas season, may we all prepare our hearts for the True Joy of Christmas. Enjoy a blessed, merry weekend, and remember, “Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room. And Heaven and nature sing.”

Here’s to a wonderful weekend of Christmas movie magic!
